Nuri Korean School Celebrates Hangul Day with All Generations

Nuri Korean School celebrated Hangul Day with a variety of activities honoring the beauty and significance of the Korean alphabet. This year marks the 580th anniversary of the promulgation of Hunminjeongeum, the original document introducing Hangul, and the 100th anniversary of the establishment of Hangul Day.

Students of all ages participated in a range of meaningful programs, including a Korean essay contest (Baekiljang), a collaborative “Handprint Hangul Tree” art project, and a Korean poetry-writing activity.

Young students created a colorful tree using their handprints, symbolizing the growth and enduring legacy of Hangul. Adult learners explored Korean poetry and expressed their personal experiences, emotions, and love for the Korean language through their own poems.

Nuri Korean School shared that the event provided a meaningful opportunity for participants of all generations to celebrate Hangul and deepen their pride in Korea’s rich cultural heritage. The school reaffirmed its commitment to helping students appreciate and preserve the Korean language for future generations.
